Who reviews an ADU in Sanger?
The City of Sanger, for parcels inside its limits. Sanger is its own incorporated city in Fresno County, so the City of Fresno's free plans and Fresno's permit portal do not apply there. Parcels just outside town fall to Fresno County instead.
Which rules apply in Sanger?
State ADU law applies to every California city. As of October 2026, that means a single-family lot can combine a converted ADU, a new detached ADU of up to 800 sq ft and a junior ADU. New detached units get 4-foot side and rear setbacks, and review is ministerial, with a decision due within 60 days of a complete application.
